Standing strong
for our community.

An old steel bridge connecting two mountain ridges.

In these peaks and valleys, we take care of our own. Appalachian Influence is a network of everyday people—from church leaders to soccer coaches—who use social media to promote the benefits of harm reduction.

Because when you reduce the harms of drug use, you save lives and protect the health of everyone in our community.

Despite our strengths, our community has challenges. The opioid crisis combined with COVID-19 has caused increases in drug use, overdoses, and infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis C. We’ve all been impacted. It’s time to step up for each other—because that’s what we do.

Join the conversation

From pews to playgrounds, see how others are taking action online to keep their communities strong and healthy. Then, create a post of your own that explains why you support harm reduction services like naloxone, safe syringe disposal, fentanyl test strips, and disease testing. When you post, use #ApInfluence and tag us @ApInfluence.
